Snoring - Lost "Mojo"

Updated: Oct 7, 2021

Snoring describes the hoarse or harsh sound from nose or mouth that occurs when breathing is partially obstructed while sleeping.

It usually doesn't bother the snoring person as much as their sleeping partner 😅

Snoring can have causes that aren't due to underlying disease. Examples include nasal congestion, the anatomic variation of the nose and soft palate, or alcohol consumption.

This condition usually happens when a person stops taking care of their own needs. They become less active and less involved in the creation of their own well-being. When someone starts to snore or snore more intensely, they also feel less worthy and less passionate overall. They feel they aren't rewarded for their hard work, and that they are on a receiving end of criticism and verbal attacks. There could also be an issue with some authority figure that makes you feel like you have to follow orders. The snoring person wants to rebel but feels powerless to change their circumstances. That makes them stubborn and resistant to change.

It is important to also mention the metaphorical meaning of the sound itself.

It can be understood as a signal to ward off enemies, almost like saying "leave me alone, I want to be by myself"

OR

it also can mean that the snoring person is asking for what they cannot ask for with words: "stay with me, I need you close, embrace me with tenderness and cuddle me to sleep".

Emotions:

  • Laziness fueled by the futility of one's efforts

  • Passionlessness

  • Overwhelm and irritation

  • Stubbornness based by past hurts

  • A need for closeness and embrace

Supportive Affirmations:

It is safe to ask for a break and take time off to refuel myself. My passion fuels my motivation.

Questions to ask yourself:

  1. What caused you to lose your Mojo?

  2. When did life become mundane?

  3. Who challenged your ability to motivate yourself?

  4. Who do you really want to push away and whose embrace do you crave before falling asleep?
