Celiac Disease - Disempowerment

Celiac disease is characterized by a severe reaction to gluten. The lining of the small intestine is damaged by chronic inflammation, leading to damage of villi (small finger-like projections of the intestine wall, increasing the absorptive surface), and resulting in malnutrition. Other symptoms include diarrhea, gas, bloating, anemia, and osteoporosis.

Emotions:

  • Feeling suppressed and intimidated

  • Disempowerment leading to feelings of helplessness

  • Difficulty absorbing and assimilating life

Supportive Affirmations:

“I find strength in my character. It is safe to encourage myself and proceed forward.”

How can I build myself up?

The VIA Institute of Character has scientifically identified 24-character strengths that each and every one of us possesses, in different proportions. The top 5 of these strengths make up most of your daily experience, and they change as you grow and expand your awareness.

Once you become aware of these strengths, you can then choose to use them consciously to resolve a problem, to guide you through a decision, ad to help you bond with other people.

These strengths come naturally to you and you do not have to do anything extra to “activate” them in you.

How does it make you feel when science tells you that you have at least 24-character strengths present in you at all times? There are at least 24 reasons why you are uniquely awesome! If you feel down about yourself, you can’t seem to find anything good about yourself today, you judge and compare yourself against others, I invite you to take the VIA Test for free (at https://www.viacharacter.org/) and find out what character strengths shine within you!

How can you use your top strength to encourage yourself to proceed forward?
