Psoriasis is an autoimmune condition in which the skin cells build up and form scales and itchy, dry patches. This skin condition usually affects the elbows, knees, and scalp, but can appear on any area of the body. Some people report pain, burning, and stinging associated with this condition.

Many of my clients complain to me that they are not happy in life and that they haven’t felt joy in like, forever. When I ask them, what would bring them happiness and joy, they give me a specific scenario about things outside of them, like cars, weight loss goals, money. This tells me that happiness for them is a relief from a sense of lack, instead of a decision to enjoy what they already have.
Would music sound different to you if you lost extra weight? Would the sun feel different on your skin if you had a car worth 30k more than the one you have? Would your favorite food taste better if you didn’t have financial debt?
What makes you stop enjoying simple pleasures in life right now, today? What would it take to make you aware of the abundance of happiness and joy available to you right now? If joy is an internal feeling, how can you evoke this emotion within you right now? Could it be your ability to think a happy thought? Maybe your ability to focus on how your favorite sweater feels against your skin? How about the pleasure of being able to read?
I invite you to make a list of 10 things that make you happy and are available to you right now, at this moment. Mine are: I can sing a happy song, I can choose what I am going to wear today, I can focus on a sensation of relief when I drink water, I can take a deep breath, I can look at pictures of puppies online, I can massage my feet, I can let someone help me, I can complete this list, I can open a window in my room and let fresh air in, I can change my mind.
