Bunions - Stubbornness

A bunion is a bony bump that forms on the joint at the base of your big toe.

It occurs when some of the bones in the front part of your foot move out of place.

This causes the tip of your big toe to get pulled toward the smaller toes and forces the joint at the base of your big toe to stick out.

Emotions:

  • Stubbornness and inflexibility

  • Pushing through obstacles

  • Drawing personal power from unsupportive coping mechanisms that worked in the past

  • Expecting hardships and challenges

Supportive Affirmations:

"Life can be easy. It is safe to soften up and receive support. Collaborating with others brings me meaningful connections"

The difference between stubbornness and perseverance.

Perseverance means persistence in doing something despite difficulty or delay in achieving success.

Stubbornness is a dogged determination not to change one's attitude or position on something.

How to FEEL the difference?

Perseverance allows flexibility, collaboration, and receiving help. It is based on hope, connection with one's mission, and readjusting one's plans to accommodate new data.

It feels more like an attitude rather than an identity.

Stubbornness excludes the influence of others and invokes self-applied pressure. It is fueled by anger and feeling attacked. It is a coping strategy that is supposed to guarantee results despite the emotional cost of it.

It feels personal and definitive, rather than a mindset.

Questions for you:

  1. When in your life stubbornness served you by guaranteeing accomplishments or results?

  2. How would you feel if you released that strategy and started employing more collaboration and less pressuring yourself to be successful? Would it feel like losing control or even your identity?

  3. Who in your childhood pressured you to deliver results no matter the cost?

  4. Is feeling unresourceful a sign of failure?

Supportive Oils, Herbs, and Crystals:

  • To feel adventurous: Wild Orange; Aura Quartz

  • To feel flexible: Cypress; Dark Turquoise

  • To accept help: Oregano; Pink Opal

I also really recommend Flower Essences for this condition, such as Black Locust, Compass Barrel Cactus, Tarbush.
